About

At Per the Mill, we believe true quality means creating goods that respect both the craft and the planet. Our journey began with a simple idea: to design premium, everyday objects that endure, made not just to look good today, but to last for years, and to be fully recyclable at the end of their life.

The name “Per the Mill” is a nod to our philosophy. It’s short for “per the millimeter”—our promise of precision and care in every cut and curve. But it also reflects our belief that small details matter. Every millimeter we perfect is one more step toward products that are both functional and sustainable.

We choose aluminium as our primary material because it embodies these values. Unlike plastics that degrade with each cycle, aluminium is infinitely recyclable without loss of quality. About 75% of all aluminium ever made is still in use today, a true example of a circular material. Sourcing high-quality aluminium here in New Zealand allows us to craft goods that are aesthetic, strong, and endlessly reusable. When an aluminium product eventually reaches the end of its journey, it doesn’t become waste; it simply becomes material for something new.

In a world crowded with mass-produced, disposable products, we are committed to a different standard. Each of our designs is original, each made to order, and created with respect for both craftsmanship and sustainability. From the first sketch to the final polish, our work is guided by a passion for detail and a responsibility to reduce waste.

We’re not just making objects, you’re investing in goods built to last, to be part of your daily rituals, and to leave a lighter footprint on the earth.

Thank you for choosing Per the Mill. Together, we can prove that premium design and sustainability belong in the same sentence.
